Everything You Need to Know About Equip Expo 2026

Every October, the green industry takes over Louisville, Kentucky. Landscapers, lawn care pros, dealers, and manufacturers from all over the country show up for four days of equipment demos, education, and a whole lot of networking.
If you've never been to Equip Expo, it's hard to explain how big it is until you're standing in it. If you have been, you know it can be overwhelming without a plan.
Whether this is your first Equip or your tenth, here's everything you need to know about Equip Expo 2026, plus a few tips from our team on getting real value out of the trip.

What's Worth Seeing at Equip 2026
The Outdoor Demo Yard. This is the main event for a lot of owners. Instead of reading spec sheets, you can actually get on the equipment and test-drive it across 30+ acres.
The Welcome Reception at Churchill Downs. It kicks off Tuesday, October 20, at 6:30 p.m. Connecting with other owners before the show floor gets busy is a great way to start the week.
Mike Holmes's opening keynote. The HGTV contractor takes the stage Wednesday morning to talk about his "make it right" philosophy, quality, standards, and running a professional operation.
The Women's Leadership Reception. Media entrepreneur Susan Packard, who helped launch channels like HGTV and Food Network, is the Thursday afternoon keynote.
The expanded Tree Care Arena. Live arborist demonstrations on a 50-foot tree inside Freedom Hall. It's going to be incredible to see.
New education options. Equip Academy gives you online access to recorded education sessions, so the learning doesn't stop when you leave Louisville.
After-hours events. There's a Wednesday night block party at Fourth Street Live and a closing block party for all attendees at Old Forester's Paristown Hall.
The keynote, the Tree Care Arena, the Women's Leadership Reception, and the closing party are all included with your Equip registration. Equip Academy costs extra.
One more reason to go this year: starting in 2029, Equip will rotate between Louisville and Orlando. Louisville will still host every other year, but the every-October Louisville tradition is winding down.

Insider Tips for Getting the Most Out of Equip
Make a must-see list before you go. The show is huge, and you won't see everything. Decide ahead of time which booths, demos, and sessions matter most for your business, and hit those first. The Equip app helps you map it out. And don't save your must-sees for Friday afternoon. The show wraps up around 2 p.m. on the last day.
Prioritize conversations with people. The equipment is fun, but the real value is in the people. Talk to other lawn care business owners about what's working for them. Ask the folks working the booths real questions about the products you're considering. Those conversations are where the best ideas come from.
Don't skip the evenings. Check what's happening after show hours. Receptions, parties, and smaller meetups are where you move from a handshake to an actual relationship, and those relationships last long after you leave Louisville.
Wear comfortable shoes. Trust us on this one.
What Equip Was Like for Us Last Year
We vlogged our whole Equip 2025 experience, and it was one of the best weeks of our year. A few highlights:
The Welcome Reception at Churchill Downs. Opening night set the tone for the whole week. Great people, and the food was seriously good.
Meeting our people. When we asked the team what they were most excited about on day one, the answer was "people, people, people." Shaking hands with our clients and so many lawn care business owners in person was the best part of the trip.
Pod Row with John Pajak. Kevin and Joey recorded a podcast right there on Pod Row, and we connected with fellow green industry podcasters and creators, including at the YouTube Rally after the show.
Riding Steel Green equipment in the demo yard. We took Steel Green's fertilizer equipment for a spin in the Outdoor Demo Yard.
Cornell Mack's "Win in Life" bowling event. We bowled, battled it out in a strike competition, and had a blast. Proof that some of the best networking happens outside the convention center.
See You in Louisville October 20-24, 2026!
